The LASALLE Show is a season of programmes showcasing the best and brightest works in contemporary art, design and performance. A celebration of the graduating cohort’s creativity and boundless imagination, The LASALLE Show marks the transformation of these young talents into industry-ready creative leaders.

Pitha Wala Batul’s research focused on the development of a knowledge transference method of learning about permaculture and the acquisition of essential skills with rural women from Gudiya Village, India.  Her role as a designer was to empower them to be self-sufficient and self-sustainable.

Sharing of ideas

Syairah Malek’s project focuses on placemaking. It looks at the use of participatory design with the community to create a wayfinding system to ease navigation in the Toa Payoh neighbourhood. 

Jeremiah's showcase

Jeremiah Tan’s project investigates the lack of standardisation for Asian sizing of clothes and how this could inform the fashion industry to create better fittings for Asians.

Display of crafts

Benson Lee’s project looks at how traditional methods of making crafts are lost due to modernisation and technology. It explores how nostalgia and memory can be used to inform new ways of making with the goal of preserving culture and skills. 

Final Thoughts

This was a good opportunity for us to learn about our seniors’ works. The exhibition showcased how their individual projects progressed from semester 1 to semester 3. This also gave us an inkling of how we should present our work during our own final exhibition in semester 3.
