The Asian Insights & Design Innovation unit conducted a design ethnography study in 2014, with the objective to understand the needs and experiences of the elderly population in Singapore, their caregivers, and their interactions with public health systems here. Design for Ageing Gracefully – Rethinking Health & Wellness for the Elderly: Public Services presents the insights and design concepts that arose from that study.
Reflection & Thoughts
This report was different as it didn’t generalise the ageing population as a combined group. Instead, the report analysed the situation in Singapore and came up with 8 different personas. The workshop concepts presented were specially designed for each persona. Perhaps, sometimes we need to give our target audience a persona as it is difficult to come up with a “one size fits all” solution.
