Samtvinna/Intertwined (2016)
By: Iceland Academy of the Arts
The tool is a playful artifact designed to be an excuse for listening to different voices. All you need to know to be part of the game is how to tie a knot. It is inspired in both, the Nordic knitting tradition and the boating-knots crafted by sailors, evolving into a simplified system of crafting through making knots, that brings up diverse voices.
It has been our passport each time we entered either a particular home or a welfare institution to start conversations. This series of dialogues between generations became our core research material. In its present stage, Samtól embodies the evolution of of this collaborative design process. It is thought to open a common ground for the child living inside everyone to come and play around a table built upon stories through threads, where diverse voices are intertwined together.

Huunuu (2019)
By: Huunuu
We tend to avoid difficult conversations. You know the ones that make your toes curl and your throat go dry. The ones that help you speak the truth, search your heart and tell it how it is.
Talking about death can be some of the most difficult but important conversations we have. Awkward. Tricky. Yet cathartic, heart-warming and surprisingly life affirming once you begin!
Our conversation cards will help you connect with others and start meaningful conversations about how you live and your end of life.
When you take your final bow, make sure it’s a story worth telling.

The Family edition focuses on the things that bring us together and bond us through shared history, experience and nostalgia. It also let’s us talk about who we have become, and reveal new facets of ourselves.
