Sketches
I tried to design the tree branches with circular-shaped hooks for people to hang objects on. Initially, I wanted to only have 2 main branches per side. However, it didn’t look as attractive as I thought it would.
I decided to add more branches to create a more intricate effect. Below are some of the sketches I did. For the 4th and 5th design, I remove the circular-shaped hooks arch the branches a way that could hold objects.
Final Design
In the end, design 4 was chosen and a more detailed sketch was created. I paid special attention to ensure that most of the branches would have grooves to hook objects onto. This sketch was then digitalised for laser cutting.
